As of March 19, 2020, we continue to staff our office Monday through Friday, during our standard business hours of 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, but in a more limited capacity and with various staff working remotely.  Office hours are subject to change without notice.  Sunday office hours are suspended until further notice.  If you are planning to visit on a Sunday, we encourage visitors to contact the office during our standard business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  We are limiting in-person contact to only what is essential. Our offices are closed to the public, however, our office is available by telephone Monday through Friday during our standard business hours.  Staff are prioritizing essential services. On November 17, 2020, Governor Pritzker announced that the State of Illinois is subject to “Tier 3 Resurgence Mitigations” effective as of Friday, November 20, 2020. In accordance with the Governor’s direction, as well as the Illinois Department of Public Health guidance issued on November 17, 2020, effective as of Friday, November 20, 2020: “Funerals are limited to no more than 10 of the decedent’s immediate family members; this does not include funeral home staff, the clergy/celebrant or cemetery staff. Social distancing guidelines of at least 6 feet apart must be observed, as well as other CDC guidelines, including but not limited to wearing a face covering and practicing good hand hygiene. Waldheim Cemetery Co. further requires disposable gloves to be worn for anyone participating in the interment services including shoveling of the earth or use of hand sanitizer in lieu of disposable gloves.  Hand sanitizer will be available.  We respectfully request that you do not visit the cemeteries if you are ill.  You may be assured that we will provide dignified Jewish burials respectful of CDC guidelines. Those guidelines change rapidly, so please call our office at 708-366-4541 for current information on our operations. We want to offer you and your family every possible help during these trying times.
